Here describes to make a Peer to Peer connection between two computers
COMPONENTS REQUIRED
LAN CARD OR BUILT IN LAN IN TWO SYSTEMS
CROSS CRIMPED CABLE (EASILY AVAILABLE IN COMPUTER HARDWARE SHOP)
IN TWO SYSTEMS
Make sure your LAN card or built in LAN is properly installed and working.
Plug the two ends in the LAN port of the two systems.
IN FIRST SYSTEM
Start-control panel-Network connections
Right click Local area connection and select properties.
NOTE: Local area connection icon appears only if your LAN card driver is installed
In General tab select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Select Use the following IP address
Give the IP address and Subnet mask.
(Eg: 192.168.10.11 subnet is 255.255.255.0)
Click ok
In the local area connection properties Tick the “show icon in notification area when connected”
Click Close
Start – control panel- system
Select computer name tab click Change button
Give a suitable name in Computer name box
(Eg: sys 1)
Change the Workgroup to a desired name
(Eg: home)
Click OK then Apply- OK
Welcome message appear System seeks restart
Restart the system.
IN SECOND SYSTEM
Start-control panel-Network connections
Right click Local area connection and select properties.
NOTE: Local area connection icon appears only if your LAN card driver is installed
In General tab select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Select Use the following IP address
Give IP address with same Network ID with Different Host ID
(Eg: 192.168.10.12 subnet is 255.255.255.0)
Click OK
In the local area connection properties Tick the “show icon in notification area when connected”
Click Close
Start – control panel- system
Select computer name tab click Change button
Give a suitable name in Computer name box that not same as in First System
(Eg: sys 2)
Change the Workgroup to a desired name that same as in the First System
(Eg: home)
Click OK then Apply- OK
Welcome message appear System seeks restart
Restart the system
YOUR SHARED FOLDER IS NOW AVAILABLE BETWEEN TWO SYSTEMS
If no connection is between two computers disable Firewall.
